Financial intermediation, therefore, is a process whereby two interested parties, through an agent or financial intermediary, connect their interests.
This financial intermediary has one job, to find people who are looking for investment options, and connect them with the manager. In return, and in compliance with the requirements, this intermediary will charge a fee that will vary depending on the amount invested, the terms or other factors that are part of the agreement.
Financial management and intermediation helps companies by allowing them to finance without pre-sales, whereas banks usually require a certain level of sales. When the borrowing company reaches the required level, it switches financing and cancels the alternative credit. In this way it minimises costs and gets out of the way.
Its success is based not only on its knowledge of its market, but also on the excellent contacts it has to manage the different funds it works with. This is key to financial intermediation, as without interested investment options, and without potential investors, no transaction is possible. The manager's work would therefore be useless.

The idea is not to lend money on a long-term basis, but on a short-term basis. It is more expensive than traditional banking, but when funds are urgently needed, it can be an excellent solution.

It is much faster and more flexible and the timescales involved are shorter, with more direct dealings between the two parties.
