Alternative finance is enjoying a golden moment in Spain

Beyond a one-off resource, a last 'silver bullet', alternative financing for companies has become a strategic resource for doing business, a pillar of economic development.

There are projects that, with liquidity difficulties, can slow down their growth or even become deadlocked, putting their survival at serious risk. In a direct way, and with considerable flexibility, private capital is serving precisely to boost companies and is a phenomenon that is consolidating exponentially in our country (along the lines of others in our environment).

It is an indisputable fact that today people are looking beyond the banking circuit, beyond traditional formats in the hope that the versatility of the financier will become a reliable and solid travelling companion. We are, therefore, at a time when the sources of financing are clearly diversifying.

This is corroborated by DEXTER's Director of Risk Analysis, José Enrique Chasserot: "The data are clear. When we analyse requests for financing we see, if we look at a historical line, that the 'scoring' of the entrepreneur is increasingly higher. This means that alternative financing is not used by companies that can think of getting out of a slump, or even have a bad banking reputation, but rather by top-tier, healthy firms in good financial shape," concludes Chasserot.

Alternative financing is experiencing a golden moment in Spain.

Beyond a punctual resource, a last 'silver bullet', alternative financing for companies has become a strategic resource for doing business, a pillar of economic development.

There are projects that, with liquidity difficulties, can slow down their growth or even be left in the doldrums, putting their survival at serious risk. In a direct way, and with considerable flexibility, private capital is serving precisely to boost companies and is a phenomenon that is consolidating in our country (along the lines of others in our environment) in an exponential way.

It is an indisputable fact that today people are looking beyond the banking circuit, beyond the traditional formats in the hope that the versatility of the financier will become a reliable and solid travelling companion. We are, therefore, in a time in which the sources of financing are clearly diversifying.

This is corroborated by DEXTER's Director of Risk Analysis, José Enrique Chasserot: "The data are clear. When we analyze requests for financing we see, if we look at a historical line, that the entrepreneur's scoring is increasingly higher. This means that companies that are not resorting to alternative financing are not those that are thinking of getting out of a slump, or even have a bad banking reputation, but rather they are top-tier, healthy companies, in good financial shape," concludes Chasserot.
