In the last decade, the Costa del Sol has consolidated its position as a privileged area in the luxury real estate market, with 20 million villas being sold off-plan. The sales value of the 20 most outstanding residential developments in the area totals no less than 3,200 million euros, with complexes of almost 1,000 homes and up to 600 million euros of investment.
The latest report on the premium real estate market by 'The Agency Marbella-The Belleside Team' is conclusive: the coastal strip from Sotogrande to Málaga city, via Casares, Estepona, Benahavís, Marbella and Ojén, is almost unbeatable.
As the authors of the study point out, "the real estate market is experiencing a very sweet moment. There is an international clientele very interested in the Costa del Sol. Both to buy property for investment purposes and to buy a house or villa to live in as a first or second home".
There are developments that have sold out in their pre-launch phase, and flats are being resold off-plan. In this regard, Yeidy Ramirez, president of DEXTER points out that "these types of high-end real estate developments attract mainly wealthy international buyers, including entrepreneurs, executives, celebrities and investors, who are looking for luxury, comfort and exclusivity in a sunny and prestigious location".
