Private capital, a decisive lever for the growth of the Spanish economy

Beyond the economic activity promoted as a result of the leverage of traditional banking, the private equity industry in Spain continues to grow, taking market share and contributing to the development of new projects, new companies and, ultimately, to the creation of jobs.

Specifically, in the Venture Capital & Private Equity sector in Spain, in 2023 the volume of investment reached 6,709 million euros, distributed in a total of 844 investments. International funds registered record investment figures in Spanish companies (5,042 million euros in 166 investments), which reinforces an unquestionable commitment in these times. For their part, national private funds invested 1,470.3 million in 535 investments.

After a 2023 marked by macroeconomic uncertainty and high interest rates, the informed opinion in the sector is that there is a "reactivation of investment activity in 2024 within the Spanish market": there are new operations and projects of interest.

DEXTER has been playing a leading role in private equity and its use for alternative financing for the past five years. Its president, Yeidy Ramírez, assures that "it is not always said or highlighted, but with extra-bank financing, through the investment funds and debt funds that we represent, we are contributing greatly to the generation of employment and the progress of the companies themselves".

In addition to construction financing, DEXTER has established itself as the leading specialist in bridge loans with mortgage guarantees, a product that is not offered by traditional banks in Spain.
