The trend has led to an increase in demand for property, but even more so from foreign investors, who are looking to take advantage of the opportunities and benefits offered by Spanish cities. Hence, experts identify Madrid and Barcelona as key markets for property purchases, along with coastal areas.<\/p><p>The British and Russians, together with the Germans and French, are at the top of the ranking of acquisitions. The purchase of properties by these investors, also in tourist areas for holiday rentals, has boosted demand and prices in these areas, such as the Balearic Islands, the Alicante coast and the Costa del Sol.\u00a0<\/p><p>From DEXTER's Risk Analysis Department, its head, Jos\u00e9 Enrique Chasserot, explains it very graphically: \"on the one hand we find capital coming from outside Spain, both from private investors and institutional funds, which we represent and manage; on the other hand there is a market that is very much alive, in the high standing segment and even in super luxury. Spain, in short, has positioned itself as one of the major countries in Europe and the world in which there is a very clear safe-haven value in this type of prime assets.
