Real estate, Spaniards' favourite investment sector
The brick has been commonly considered a refuge by Spanish citizens... and by those who come to our country not only to develop their business and family life but also to invest.
Whether domestic investors are betting on the financial, technology, textile or other sectors, the majority group continues to be attracted by the real estate market. Specifically, 82% of savers opt for this route. Even modalities such as crowdlending are allowing investors to do so from modest amounts.
More than half of Spaniards (61%) who buy a property prefer to rent it out rather than make it their primary or secondary home. Currently, 17% of Spaniards are looking for a property opportunity to invest in and plan to buy one in the next 18 months. The interest is unquestionable.
What do you see in real estate? Mainly, considerable stability and a permanent revaluation, despite the economic crises. This is how DEXTER's Director of Risk Analysis, José Enrique Chasserot, explains it: "there are entrepreneurs who take their breaks to see how the market evolves, but they always keep analysing all the variables that allow them to take the step. We, who facilitate access to entrepreneurs from all sectors, see how there is a permanent, incessant flow of requests for real estate loans: from those seeking some capital to finish buying a final land, with a project and licence to build... to those seeking capital directly for the execution of the work, the classic loan to the developer for which they need speed and flexibility... there is a wide range of operations in which to invest capital in all sectors of real estate," concludes Chasserot.
