"Life is not just what happens, but how we act on it".
It was, as expected, a rabidly emotional evening. More than 700 people packed the Teatro de La Latina, a legendary theatre in the centre of Madrid, not only to pay tribute but also to soak up the atmosphere, the speeches and the women who became the true protagonists of an evening full of emotions and vibrations.
It was a group of chosen women who took the floor to explain, in first person and in a very unique way, what leadership has meant to them and how they have walked through life to reach the heights of success they have been able to reach.
The CEO of DEXTER, Yeidy Ramírez, began her speech with a show of gratitude to those who are now part of the company and who supported her from the stalls, with the presence of several of the firm's directors; which she combined with enormously affectionate mentions of gratitude to her family: her parents (also present in the room) and her three children, one of whom, Dylan Ramírez, travelled from DEXTER's headquarters in London for the special occasion.
The company's chief executive stressed that, in life, "it's not just what happens, but how we deal with it", and added a few mentions of the importance of "always behaving with respect, with love and in a positive way", she went on to say, generating dopamine and serotonin, which are the hormones that regulate the state of happiness.
Similarly, Yeidy Ramirez focused on how important it is when people "never forget how we make them feel, because when you make a person feel, when your actions provoke emotions, that is when they last forever and ever".
In a few lines also dedicated to business management, he stressed that "the leader is the first to believe in himself and in those he is inspiring, someone who thinks about the future before it arrives, someone who masters the art of planning, anticipation and foresight, with an instinct and a special capacity to interpret the facts and circumstances of each moment".
At the end of the event, Yeidy Ramírez returned to the stage with the select group of honorees and before leaving the theatre she received, once again in a very affectionate manner, the words and congratulations of many of the women in attendance: an audience, in short, captivated by the innovative staging of this latest edition of 'Top Woman Leaders'.
